Ali Essafi

Born in Morocco, Ali Essafi is a director and visual artist. After training as a psychologist in France, he turned to documentary and arthouse cinema. His latest film, Before the Dying of the Light (Documentary Prize at the National Film Festival of Morocco in 2020), has been selected in prestigious festivals such as IDFA (Amsterdam), Doc Fortnight MoMA (New York).
