Nawal El Mediri

Nawal El Mediri was born in 1995 in Saint Remy. She graduated from the Ema fructidor school in Chalon sur Saône, after studying fashion. In 2014, she turned definitively to art and began a noise adventure that focuses on sound experimentation. Her work takes the form of ephemeral installations whose sources are most often hidden from the listener. Favouring an informal aspect, her productions reflect a minimal conception of the sound approach. Her sound installations and performances, inspired by the spirit of the pioneer of self-destructive art Gustav Metzger, bring our auditory perceptions into resonance with the spaces and external architecture she invests. By disrupting the acoustic field of dissonance in an indexical way, she questions the experience of listening.
