«Still Life» is a graphic work in virtual reality, which is currently being drawn. Still life is primarily about what it is «to be alive» and the state of mindfulness in meditation, a connection to oneself while acknowledging one’s surroundings. We find a community of beings living in the same environment and developing a dense network of dependencies in order to maintain a state of balance and functional unity. Some of them are intertwined with each other, like in biology a host that hosts a parasite, a partner necessary to its life cycle. «Still life» addresses these disturbance states between reality and mental images and their possible translations that manifest themselves inside the headset: Between what is material and what is immaterial, what is alive and what is inert, what is in motion and what is fixed.

Hela Lamine

Hela Lamine, born in Tunis in 1984, lives and works in Tunis. She holds a degree from the Institute of Fine Arts of Tunis and the University of Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne. She now teaches at the Higher Institute of Fine Arts in Sousse. Hela Lamine uses several media such as drawing, engraving, painting, collage, and digital creation techniques. She studies, observes, experiments, dissects daily life, in a quasi-scientific approach, and studies the mechanisms that can generate the confusion that can exist between what is given to see and what can be hidden. She plays with the fragile limits which separate these two territories, often with humor and derision
