HEND_SABRI Abdelmonem Chouayet
Tunisia

Abdelmonem Chouayet is a Tunisian actor and theater director, born in 1974. He also teaches theater at the Higher Institute of Dramatic Art and regularly conducts workshops for children, including in El Teatro and the Rio.
He has staged texts of great authors such as Jean Anouih or Louis Calaferte, and has played in plays by Fethi Akkari, Taoufik Jebali, Taoufik el Ayeb and Atef Ben Hassine. In cinema, he played, among many other films, in «Le Prince» by Mohamed Zran, «Tender Is the Wolf» by Jilani Saadi, «Bastardo» by Najib Belkhadhi and «Mustafa Z» by Nidhal Chatta that earned him the prize for best actor at the Carthage Film Festival in 2017.

HEND_SABRI Dorothée Myriam Kellou

Dorothee Myriam Kellou is a French Algerian journalist turned filmmaker. In 2019, she completed her first documentary film, In Mansourah you separated us, on Algerian intimate memories of forced resettlement by the French military during the Algerian war of independence, departing from her own father’s oblivion / memory of this silenced history. The film premiered in Vision du réel International Film Festival and was screened at IDFA Amsterdam and at the JCC in Tunisia. It received several awards including the human rights award in FIDADOC in Agadir. In 2020, she co-founded the collective Rawiyat to support women filmmakers in the region and the diaspora.

HEND_SABRI Saskia Walker

Born in 1970 in Cologne, Germany. Filmdirector and producer, curator. She studies history of art in Paris, Freiburg, Moskau and Berlin. Until 2003 postgraduate-studies in film at the Academy of Media Arts Cologne. She works since 2007 as a Co-Editor of Revolver, review of cinema. Since 2011 as a member of the selection committee of the Berlinale Shorts. She curated programmes about R.W. Fassbinder in Berlin, Harun Farocki and contemporary russian filmmakers mainly together with the Goethe Institutes in Russia. In 2013 she founded Sprechfilm and released the documentary Sex:Speak in 2015. Her latest film, the fiction Come closer (2020) will be released in July 2021.

HEND_SABRI Mayar Al Roumi

Meyar Al Roumi was born in 1973 in Damascus (Syria). He studied at the Fine Arts of Damascus, then at the University of Paris VIII, and finally at the FEMIS from which he graduated in 2001 as a director of photography. He has directed several documentary films: Un cinéma muet(2001), L’attente du jour (2004), Le club de l’avenir (2006), Six histoires ordinaires(2007) and a short fiction film Le voyage de Rabia(2006). He directed his first feature film, Round Trip in 2012. He has just finished a large format documentary for Arte, The Forgotten Faces of Palmyra.

Algerian-American filmmaker and investigative journalist who has reported internationally for BBC, AlJazeera, VICE and CNN among others. Her debut short film about «hijabi» hair salons for HBO Documentary Films premiered at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival. Her award-winning feature-length directorial debut, THE FEELING OF BEING WATCHED a documentary investigating a decade of FBI surveillance in Assia’s Muslim-American en/community, had its world premiere at the 2018 Tribeca Film Festival and national broadcast on PBS “POV.” Assia was named one of Filmmaker Magazine’s 2018 «25 New Faces of Independent Film» was a 2019 New America National Fellow and in 2020 was honored with the Livingston Award for national reporting. Assia is a 2020-2021 Ford Foundation JustFilms Fellow hosted at the Co-Creation Studio at the MIT Open Documentary Lab where she is iterating her most recent hybrid work, a en/community co-created, AI-fueled sequel to her film: the Inverse Surveillance Project. She has an M.A. in journalism from New York University and is an Algiers born, Arabic speaking, Chicagoan.
