Through its alternative programming, the Gabès Cinéma Fen Festival opens many spaces for encounter and discussion about films and emerging topics. The festival also considers that the human relationship with the earth is one of the most important peculiarities of the Gabes region, in light of the city’s continued suffering from environmental pollution since the seventies!
For this purpose, a section entitled «Earth Cinema» was programmed in order to involve the cinema field in raising problems related to earth. This section is organized in partnership with the «Soutcom» association, which includes a significant number of the region’s youth working to create new activities and demonstrations, including organizing camps. In an initiative initiated by the association to valorize earth and in its endeavor to show the natural richness of the city of Gabes, despite its ecological problems.
From here came the initiative of the Ciné-Camp film camp, which will include film screenings, around the earth topic, for two consecutive days in the oasis, where we will discover its natural specificities in the presence of many movie goers and campers from Tunisia and the Arab world.
